Hi

First of all, english is not my mother tongue so bear with me if any misspellings or funny grammar appears

I posted this on apug before but I thougt it was worth a try to also post it here.

I just bought a Nikkormat ftn and it got some shutter issues.
The problem is when I press the release button the shutter stays open until I
release it (like it was in bulb mode) and as soon as I release it I can hear the timer starts ticking.
To make use of the shutter speeds I needs to use the self timer which is kinda
inconvenient when you try to catch the moment.
Do anybody knows anything about this problem ?

Hi Nicklas

Your English is fine. Has the camera been stored for a long time? Mechanical cameras are lazy and sometimes need to be whipped into action. This is a gentle process. First, place the camera in a warm spot in your house. Or, depending on climate, in full sun.

Let it warm. Then, gently, operate the camera.

Sorry I can not be any more helpful, but I am sure others here can offer more detailed technical advice.
