I have a Kodak Retina IIIc (little c) which the shutter not working. After removing the lenses I tried flooding the shutter with lighter fluid a was able to get the shutter working. Now that the lighter fluid evaporated the shutter no longer works. I just need to get to the shutter mechanism for more thorough cleaning with minimum disassembly. Any suggestions? |

Hi Mike: Flood cleaning in place is not my favorite thing in the world, but if you have no other choice, you might find that CRC "QD" Electronic Cleaner is a bit more effective than lighter fluid. It's in a spray can and the combination of the pressure stream and possibly its faster evaporation rate makes it a little better at flushing crud out of tight spaces. rick |

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I finally got the shutter to work (and for how long?) by exercising the shutter. Testing the camera with a roll of expired film. Will let you know how it turns out. |

The camera works good. Took two rolls of film to test the camera. The first roll was slightly underexposed due to wrong camera meter setting. Second roll turned out better. I uploaded some pics from the second roll. |
