Does anyone out there know if there is a way to separate the two lens groups of the front (removable) lens section? I have the beginnings of fungus between these lens elements, and I can see no way of getting them apart!

Instructions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Check Chris Sherlock Retina website http://rawhiti.tripod.com/. Website has information which helped me on repairs on my Retina IIIc.

Hope you don't mind me asking, but are you sure it's fungus? My Retina has something that looked initially like fungus between the elements of the front unscrewable section, but on closer inspection I'm now convinced that it's separation between two cemented elements and have decided to leave well alone for the time being.

Thanks Chris!!

To Steve: I haven't gotten to the retina repair yet as I am still working on a couple Konica Auto S2's that I have. I am not 100% sure it is fungus, but I recently had obtained a IIIc on that auction website that had a very clear and obvious fungus problem even though the seller specifically stated that it had no fungus - it was real bad with lots of little spidery tendrils of fungus growing all over the inside of the lens. I sent it back to the seller for a refund and he simply re-listed the camera and removed the statement about "no fungus" in the listing - pretty sneaky.

Speaking of fungus - it's mushrooming season again in Northern California, and I am hoping to go out this weekend foraging!
