I need to remove the top cover from this Contina IIa to clean the viewfinder.
Does the shutter button unscrew to remove the wind lever, if so in what direction?
Many thanks - Alf

It does unscrew and it is a right hand thread.
Use a thin piece of rubber or similar to get a
grip on it.

Thanks for your prompt reply, I'll try that.

Hey Lrsnrl, thanks a lot for the info, my head was about to explode trying to open a similar model. How should I proceed next? I can see two middle size screws inside positioned on the front and the back and two small ones a little bit to the left of the front middle sized screw. I haven't pull the black circle that counts the shots, it doesn't look as it can be pulled out.

Once the shutter button is off you can remove the
numbered dial. Now you should see a round brass
nut with slots for a spanner wrench that has the
shutter release shaft sticking out of it. This
nut has a left hand thread. Once it is removed
you will see four screws. Remove these screws and
the wind lever will come off. Remember everything
is under spring tension. It is a good idea to
advance the wind lever a little but not all the
way. There are some little parts that will come
out so be sure to remember how they go together.
