My wife just bought an AT-1 to replace the one she smashed. The new camera's shutter acts funny. sometimes it fires right other times the shutter gets stuck open. The electro magnet in the bottom is not always releasing so it appears to be an electrical problem. If you jiggle the speed dial when the shutter is stuck open the magnet releases and the shutter closes. The battery is brand new. I dissembled the dead one to see whats inside. I think the electrical contacts under the dial may need to be cleaned, what do you all think? My main concern is I can fix things well but have never really delved into cameras. Does the dial with the sting/cable need to be reinstalled under under a certain tension/revolution? Any of your input would be greatly appreciated.
