Hey,

Trying to remove the front element of my 70-210, as there is a tiny patch of fungus at the edge. I remove the canon plastic name plate thing (with the lens data etc on it), and the 2 screws from the side of the lens, but I cant figure out for the life of me how the lens comes out?

I think the top part might unscrew, but at the risk of marking an otherwise perfect condition lens I figured id ask here first.

Cheers!

Bump! Tried googling around and searching the archives, but to no avail. Surely someone has dismantled one of these before?

just incase anyone comes across this in the future..

remove the name plate, and by knocking the lens on palm of hand a few times, the front element will drop out.

if you remove the top 2 screws you can completely remove the front 2 elements for easier cleaning
