Hey,

I recently picked up a Taron Marquis, and in the process of trying to fix it.
The lens has taken a knock (its slightly off to an angle), so I'm trying to remove it from the camera to re-seat it.

I'm trying to remove the top cover, but can figure out how to get the rewind lever off. The second picture on this website shows the setup pretty well. http://basepath.com/Photography/Taron.php

The film counter can be moved around, but the metal disc in the center stays in a position relative to the advance lever. (So when the lever moves, so does the disc).
I figure by applying some presure it should just unscrew, through I cant seem to get it off!

Is there any good tricks for removing it, or am I missing something in my method?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

There might be a thin metal disc which you have to remove/pry off in order to see the screw holding the lever onto the shaft. It might be glued on.

What appears to be a metal disc is a screwhead, it can be unscrewed the usual way IIRC with a friction tool. The screw underneath however is lefthand threaded. That is all that is different on a Marquis, everything else is rather straightforward.
You have to be exra careful when repairing Tarons of that vintage, except for the shutter everything is rather rickety.

Ive tried and tried, but I cant seem to unscrew it with a friction tool. It doesnt seem to budge at all.

Could I use a soldering iron or something, to heat up the ring and remove it easier?
