I have an old Nikon FG. The M90 and Blub settings work fine, however, the mirror and shutter lock up when trying to release the shutter in any of the electronic modes. It can be released again by switching it to M90 or removing the battery. Also, the light meter works fine, and I just replaced the battery with a new CR1/3N.

I have exactly the same problem, but my Nikon FG meter only works for a few seconds when moving the dial from M90 to other positions and then stops working (with brand new batteries).
I need move the dial to M90 again, leave it there for a few seconds, but when move it again and the same happens: the meter works for a couple of seconds, but as soon as I press the shutter or move it the dial again, the camera stops working.
