Has anyone ever taken top off a Rollei 35SE to adjust the meter calibration for a 6V silver oxide battery rather than the discontinued 5.6V mercury battery? I had no problem removing the top cover but there is no potentiometer visible as on the Rollei 35, only a circuit board with several solder points. Any help or a copy of the SE or TE repair manual pages on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
according to the website of a German company offering battery conversion service for Rollei cameras it is not necessary to recalibrate the meter on the 35TE, 35SE and 35LED models. The conversion kit for those cameras contains an adpter in the size of the original battery and 4 1,5V button cells.
As they also offer modifying the other Rollei 35 models to 1.5V they should know what they are saying.

Here's their website (German only)
http://www.ffs-service.de/reparaturservice/rollei35.html
Maybe you can verify from a different source.

Hope this helps
Martin

Thanks Martin. I got found a repair manual for the Rollei 35TE but unlike the 35 series, there are no potentiometes to adjust. The only means of adjustment is to play with the gearing or remove some of the ND filters infront of the CdS cell. I think it's much easier to compensate by changing the film speed setting.

Sorry - looks like I did not make it clear:
The 35SE does NOT need any changes to the circuits or other meter adjustments when using 6V batteries. Only adaptation needed is for fitting the batteries in the battery holder.
