Hi I have just bought a Nikkormat FT2, but the film door refuses to open Pushed the release catch as far as it will go, but the door refuses to budge. Any ideas ?

I have a Konica C35 that had the same problem. I had to take the top off the camera, to access the release catch, in order to adjust it.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the light seals may be sticking the door shut. Have you tried gently tugging at the back while the latch is fully pulled down?

Hi thank you for the help I managed to get it open by pulling th catch down and using the tip of a screwdriver to push the door open.
I then very gently ' bent ' the door from the centre. works perfectly now

thanks again
