As the title says... Does anyone in the Uk have one of these that I could have the loan/hire of? I've found another Retina (a II this time) with bellows detaching from the body, and I'd like to fix them. However, by the time I've bought a wrench from the US, and paid 20% VAT, plus the courier's fee to get it from HMRC back to the Royal Mail, it'll cost almost as much as it would to send to Chris Sherlock in NZ, and I can't afford that either... Thanks! |

Adrian: Try to make one form a piece of flat steel & a file & dremel type tool. This is another option, & if you go through some of the prior post here you might find some images of what other people have made up for various jobs. It is one of those things that comes with the trade. You just have to improvise at times. I have seen some tools made from old saw blades.... Good Luck! The Best Mike.... |

Not sure why you need the wrench if the bellows are detached at the rear from the body. Why not just glue it back in place? |

Hi Mike, I realise I probably sound crabby (I don't mean to - honest!) but the reason I ask for the wrench is because the securing ring on these early Retinas is very deep set, and very narrow, hence why someone makes a special tool. I've cobbled together tools for other cameras, but this one needs more skill than I have. Connealy, the best way to get at Retina bellows is from the front. I'm working on instructions form the Retina Guru Chris Sherlock here, and I've stuffed one up before now trying to go the other way... so I'm doing as the boss says! Sorry to moan when you're trying to help, but I think I need the tool... |
