I've tried to determine the cause of the light swoosh that appears on most of the shots from my Ciroflex. I don't think it's a light leak because I've added new seals and even taped up the top of the rear door and it still appears. The shutter blades were slow [when I first got the camera] so I've cleaned them, check the speeds, and the shutter is working correctly as far as I can tell, so I'm at loss. Has anyone ever seen this type of issue?

It's most certainly a massive light leak. The round pattern looks as though it's coming thru the lens, as if the shutter blades are perhaps not closing correctly.

Something similar to that happened on my Argus CC, but it was caused by light getting past the collapsible lens barrel. I'm going to have to re-felt it.

Br1078 gets it right. The felt seal around the taking lens was worn out. I guess after 65 years I'd be a little worn out. Replaced it with some foam from Jon Goodman. I'll be testing it later this week

Test shots are in and victory is ours. The new light seal around the taking lens retainer works like a charm.

That's great, Marty. Now I know to contact JG for some material when I redo my Argus.
