Hello all, I have a 1951 or 52 Nikon rangefinder 8.5 2.0 lens that needs the helicoil regreased. Can anyone tell me, or direct me to the procedure for separating the helicoils for a thorough cleaning and relube. Also a recommendation for obtaining the correct grease or modern improved equivalent. Thanks!

i had that lens but never serviced it. I do have notes on the prewar 85/2 Zeiss Sonnar, don't know if they are made similarly or not.

I use white lithium grease for helicals; some people prefer silicone grease. [email protected]
