For a Fodor Record (Tougodo TLR) i have to make a Glide Plate for the focusing mechanism as one was missing in that TLR. Does anybody know which material would be best to use ?

The glideplate or glide piece(German Gleitplätchen) is used on the focusing strut of a TLR and is a kind of buffer between that strut and the focusing cam.

Here a photo of the one still present in the Record.

Is it nylon?

It's both clear plastic and tenasious so nylon is a possibility Donnie. Must try that out. Thanks !

Well, gave it a try today and made a glideplate out of Nylon. In fact i even made 2 so both focus slides will have exactly the same material.
Still have to grind a little to give it its final shape.

The genuine glideplate just lying left of the new one.

Good idea to make two, Hans, that way you can file the original for later reference. So far, so good.

Well, finished a Kodak Ektar 100 testfilm recently and the new Glideplate performed without a hitch :-)
