Has anyone had any success removing the name ring from this lens, and if so, how? I have a lens with a tiny bit of fungus under the front element and have had no success getting it out.

I can't use the regular rubber plug method since the angle of the ring is so steep and the front element projects out to nearly the end of it. Various lens caps with sheet rubber, friction tape, etc. haven't worked either. I'd really like to not have to drill into the ring and use a spanner, but if that's what I have to do, I guess I will have to accept it.

Any other suggestions?

I'm sure that someone in the Kiron Klub ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Kiron-Klub/ ). They know just about everything on Kiron and Vivitar lenses. That is a very good lens too.
