Hello folk. I have a Canon Serenar 50/1.9 with the iris blades malformed. Need to reset them. It looks like this can be accomplished by going through the back half, yes/no? Any experienced tips or hints are welcomed. I really would like to use this lens.

I'm guessing this is a copy of the Leitz Summar since it only goes to f11?

I don't have notes on the Serenar, but usually you go in the front. If it's like the Summar and Summitar, you first unscrew the front cell, then unscrew a second cell; behind that is the diaphragm actuating cup and then the blades.

Construction-wise, it will be more like a Summitar. You might find using instructions for a Summitar work pretty well.
