I now have two RTS 2 bodies with the same problem. Both appear stuck in flash sync mode with the viewfinder flashing '60' and showing the non-flash shutter speed (not flashing). This display shows in all modes (manual, AE, X-sync) and the shutter only fires at 1/60 s. The exception is 'B' mode, which operates but does not show in the 'finder.

Sometimes normal operation returns but never for long. Manual shutter release is fine and batteries fresh. I may be doing somthing daft, but any advice is very welcome. Many thanks.

The RTS II will fire at 1/60 when the back cover is open and for the first two frames after closing the back.

Dirk

Thank you Dirk, one body is now fine (my ignorance). However, the second stays at 1/60.

On the good machine I found that winding on for multiple exposures (rewind button depressed) keeps 1/60 flashing, so I guess I'm looking for a faulty switch/contact on the frame counter?

Regards

Steve

Yes there is a switch coupled to the tab that resets the frame counter. You could try to push this tab in while the back cover is open to see what happens.

Ciao,

Dirk
