Hi,
I have acquired a Yamoto Pax M4. Looks in good condition.
Except the shutter speeds are out. The shutter action is sticky, and much slower than should be.
Are there any disassembly or repair guides available?
Or does anyone have experience of dismantling this camera to free up the shutter mech?

I have some notes..... based on the M2, but the cameras are nearly identical except for the cosmetics.

Hi Rick,
Do you have the notes available on line anywhere? Would you say the camera is repairable by an amateur (I'm handy enough with tools and small mechanisms, but don't have a lot of camer experience!)

No; I do have some camera notes at http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-27.html but not on the PaX. The PaX is not hard to work on, but it is very prone to having the old grease harden and gum up the works. Once you've soaked that out (Xylene worked for me as a solvent), the rest of it is pretty straightforward, and it's a very neat little camera when you're done. |

Thanks Rick, I've had a look on your site, and you have some great info there. I'll contact you for a copy of your CD, hopefully will be some info on there to get me started!
The PaX is indeed a neat little camera - should be a bit lighter to carry round than my Zorki!
