Hello,

I am absolutely new here. Just found this forum while I was searching on google for repair instruction for old camera lenses.

Does somebody have repair instruction for a Biotar manual lens? (not semi-automatic)
What is the best lube to do maintenance with?

I recently discovered that the M42 lenses are pretty easy to mount on todays dslr cameras and I've got 5 such lenses with different focal length and different small problems.

I have a very nice Biotar lens where the grease is really not a lube anymore and focusing is a bit stiff. I would like to dismount the lens as far it is possible, clean it with an ultrasonic cleaner, lube it and mount it again.

Thank you very much!

Hi Viktor!

I don't have notes on the preset Biotar, but I do have notes on the M42 preset 80/2.8 Tessar, which might be close enough to be of some help. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you what I have.
