trying to make up a test capacitor to check out some minolta x series that have shutter problems.could only find a 220uf 35 vdc cap at radio check with axial leads.will be soldering alligator clips to the leads and just clipping them to the suspect bad cap to see if the shutter will release then will get the correct cap for permanent fix.question is the last time I used electolytic caps they had the leads either black or red for polarity and sometimes a3rd wire if it had dual function.I am assuming the new marking which is a white arrow pointing to one end and what looks like a bar is the negative side.can someone comfirm this please.it's been 40 years since I bought any caps.

Depending on the failure mode of the old capacitor (open or shorted/leaky), connecting the test in one parallel may or may not be revelatory. (Only helpful if the old one is open.)
