Can anyone give me information as to how to remove the top of a Zeiss contessa? I have one that needs the large rangefinder glass replaced and a general cleaning done on the rangefinder. Also it is missing the knob to open the front and the rewind release button if anyone has a few spare pieces and parts for one. Thanks.

Here's how to remove the top of the Contessa 35 folder: http://elekm.net/zeiss-ikon/repair/meter-repair/

I need a rewind release button myself!

Thanks, that helped, however I then discovered the rangefinder was broken in two pieces! Pretty much looks like a 20.00 $ investment I perhaps should not have made.

You can still focus the camera, you just have to be good at guessing the distance to a close enough point for the depth of field to cover any miscalculation.

Yes , that's very true . It is just that I like things to work properly if possible.
