After taking the shutter out, and smoothing the surfaces where the B Lever Release and it's Pusher mate, I put the camera back together, and now it's working like a charm. It wouldn't have happened without help from here, and another forum. Thanks to all who cheered me on, gave advice, or just commiserated with me when things weren't going right.

The test photos are back, and it looks like I need to refocus the lens. I used a different infinity target than the first time, and things are just not sharp now. I guess you can set it too far away.

The shutter is now working fine, with no hangs anymore. And the meter is spot on. I also don't see any of that flutter from not setting the tension on the aperture high enough, so it looks like four notches was enough.

Test number 3 is done, and it appears I've got some lens work to do. There is a bit of flaring that wasn't there before, so either I have a condensation problem caused by me having the AC on for part of the excursion, or I got something on the elements when putting things back together the last time.
The focus is also off, so setting it by looking in the viewfinder is not the answer. I'll have to set it at the film plane first, then adjust the mirror.

Just a quick point about focusing. With the contaflex 1 and 2 without the removable front element, I find that when resetting the focus on the film plane, I can only get the focusing to match the 3ft-inf marks if I use a cherry tree approx 45 feet away to set infinity.

That's okay, Fidji, we've got plenty of trees around here. I did get the focus reset, and adjusted the mirror. It's much better now, doing things the proper way.

It's got a chipped and scratched front element, so that's keeping the lens from reaching it's true potential.
