can anyone help me with this problem on the retina ii,,,i know about the shutter release on the top housing sinks until u load a film so after i loaded a film it came up..set the counter advanced the film all going well,,then after i got to exposure 5 the film inside was ripping on the transport wheel,so took the film out ,ruined ,,tryed another film same thing happened again took 4 exposures then tension again film jammed up again tearing the film now the shutter is set but wont fire ,,the release on the lens i mean ,,,,does this make any sense

I had this problem with my IIIc and reflex. In both cases I had to have the shutter spring replaced. I noticed that the shutter was slow in closing after taking a picture. If I advanced the film/cocked the shutter before it was closed all the way, it would do what you are describing. I was able to resume using the camera if I advanced the frame indicator using the button on the back. I don't know if this is your problem but that is what I experienced.
