I was recently gifted a black Minolta SR-2 along with a vivitar 24mm f2.
While the owner was showing the camera without the lens, all operations worked smoothly including the slow shutter speeds and self timer.

He then put on the lens and all seemed fine. When the lens was taken off however, the mirror would not come back down and all the shutter speeds are the same (roughly 125sec).

I thought I could fix it and considering the zero cost, I figured I was not out of pocket.

When I got it home I removed the bottom plate.

There is a long piece that seems to be slipping under the tripod socket and getting jammed. When this is dislodged, nothing changes.
Any thoughts of what may be happening.
