Hi, my FM2 (not FM2n) releases shutter without a problem except for speeds slower than 1/500. At theses shutter speeds, the shutter closes very slowly or doesn't close at all. I found a posting from 2005 about a similar problem but the correct reply was missing a diagram. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? |

My 2 ctnts.
FM series uses governor for slow speeds. Most likely engagement spring came off. The spring you are looking for is on the edge towards shuuter side. You will see a freely running black speing. Just put it back on. This will make sure slow speed governor gets engaged... My bad, governor is located right on top of self timer mechanism. From Top bottom, Shutter assembly, Governor, below are self timer. Hope this is it. |

I have the opposite problem, where shutter speeds faster than 1/500 are quicker. Thus, images shot are usually under exposed. Hoping that you can post an image of the spring mentioned. Thanks
