Hi everyone, Canon AE-1 (not the squeal): the shutter/mirror is stuck. When taking a picture, most of the time the mirror/shutter open and do not close again. If I press the battery check button it always releases. Furthermore, when set e.g. 1/1000 and keep my finger on the release button, it stays open (is this normal?). Is the release button / time setting mechanism broken? what could be the problem, I do not think it is the canon squeal; neither the battery (tried one of my other ae-1); nor the magnet on the bottom. (After dissembling the bottom now it sometimes works, but no pattern discernable). Thanks for help in advance Gerald |
