I have a rather nice Canon AE-1 PROGRAM and the batt door cover is broken beyond repair. I see some replacement "snap in" covers listed in Ebay for AE-1, A-1, AE-1 NEW. Question is will any of the products listed for the old AE-1 also fit the AE-1 PROGRAM? The pictures provided look identical for each. |

The battery doors for the AE-1, AE-1P, AT-1, and A-1 are identical. Those for the AL-1 and AV-1 do not appear to interchange. Best, Michael |

If you havent ordered one already then you might want to contact US Camera at http://www.uscamera.com/ They offer a door that has a built in spring which makes the replacement procedure much easier. I just put one on one of my A-1s and it seems to be good quality. |

I'll tell ya Glen, it was an easy 5 min. job max. Those little hair springs just get tougher and tougher to deal with as the years go by... |
