I have an Argus c4 and my problems is the shutter will not fire. When the film is advanced the shutter button moves up into place, but when you press the button there is little on no resistance. Any ideas?

Not sure offhand, but I have notes for disassembly to go in and take a look. The worst thing in a C4 is to have the mechanism go through all the motions but the blades don't move: this comes from a broken link between the drive system and the blade assembly. I don't recall seeing one where the button just goes slack.

If what you're experiencing is that the button is releasing the shutter but nothing moves because the blades are stuck together, STOP doing it. This is what breaks that link and renders the camera unrepairable (unless you have a donor camera to replace the broken part)

Hello Rick

I believe from what you say I am experiencing the worse case situation. I may need to make a donor out of this camera. I figure the lens along is worth $6.00. Thanks for your help.
