As you have probably guessed from the title of this post, I have a question about a Retina II. I have several Retinas and they all have a gold coating on the semitransparent mirror that gives the viewfinder a light beige tint. Well, one of mine is quite a lot browner. It doesn't effect the rangefinder patch, which is clear. Is this within normal parameters or should I suspect that there something stuck on the mirror? If something is on there, how safe is it going to be to clean it off? |

If that doesn't affect the contrast of the patch, I'd say don't worry about it. The older RFs are notorious for their easy-to-scrape off silvering. |
