In taking apart my Yashica GSN RF recently, the ball bearing that serves the detent for the "Auto/B/Flash" setting on the lens ring went flying. Any idea what size that BB is so that I can source a new one? Thanks much. -jb |

Not sure, but the most common size is 1mm. |

Thanks, Rick. The receptacle for the BB itself measures around 2mm across - the click-stop for the detent 1.5mm or so. I am assuming that 2mm is the size but I don't want to guess and would rather order the right size. I have some 1.7mm on hand that are too small. So if anyone happens to have one disassembled and can measure it, or a repair manual that actually lists the size, I'd be very grateful... |

Hey JB, Just got home and happened to have a film cannister filled with parts stripped from a GSN. Opened the case- dumped it on my desk and one bearing rolled right into my hand- at 1.975mm. So it looks like 2mm is the winning size. Unless, of course, there are other bearings in there that did not make it into my scrap pile. Matt |

Very cool, matt. I'll order a 2mm and get on with the repairs. Thanks! |

Just a followup on this. In fact, a 2mm bearing was perfect. I ordered some from smallparts.com and the Yashica is once again as good as new. Thanks! |
