I am trying to get to the shutter on my Kodak Monitor. I got as far as taking the focusing lens element off. According to another thread for a Kodak Vigilant one can make a ring clamp to remove the second lens element. Any idea how to fashion a clamp to remove the ring?

Here's a couple ideas:

It's a challenge as the rim of the fitting only peeks a little above the surrounding plate. The main thing is to not use something that will deform the roundness of the fitting which I think is brass.

When I started working on Kodak Folders and also the Reflex TLRs I decided to buy a set of Flexi Clamps from micro-tools.com:

http://www.micro-tools.com/store/SearchByCategory.aspx?CategoryCode=FLX

These are Beryllium Copper and have a very square edge so getting good grip on the Monitor's second lens element is no problem. These clamps often come in very handy so I don't regret spending the money on a few. You just have to measure very carefully the diameter you will need, unfortunately, I did not record which clamp fits on the Monitor. If you decide to buy one, pop me a message and I will see which one fits on my Monitor.
