So yeah, I was trying on a new shoulder-strap I got for my camera, and by some random act of idiocy on my part, the strap loosened and down fell the camera.

I managed to jam the front piece into the housing, and while I have everything apart, am unable to remedy this problem. Anyone know how to get the glass piece out?

dunno about removing glass... but it looks like your helical has jumped a thread. the focusing mechanism is like a big screw, you see, if the threads are not in the grooves correctly, you get a jam like that...

so that's your problem (as far as I can tell), how to fix things, I'm not so sure about.

good luck!

Yeah, I was hoping that I could try to get it back on track by hitting it on the other side...lol.

Headed to the camera shop in the morning to get another lens.

*sigh*
