Anyone know the principle of operation of the battery test lamp of one of these? The lamp itself looks OK, the switch is OK and the battery is OK but I can't get the lamp to light when I press the test button.

Ideas?

On mine the wire leading from the test switch to the battery compartment was badly coroded and I had to replace it. This corrosion disabled the entire electrical system. If the camera is working OK otherwise this wire is probably not the problem.

I found a circuit diagram here and have decided it is actually the switch after all. It's gone high impedance. Now what to do about it???
