I have a classic yashica lynx 14. I saw some rusty spots on the shutter blade from front side. How can I clean them up? What kind of detergent recommended? What material is the blade made of?

Sir: DO NOT use anything on your blades other than perhaps a dab of lighter fluid on a Q-tip and then touch up the spot(s) with a black perm. marker i.e. Magic Marker. The blades are paper thin and must remain free to slide on each other without effecting the resultant speeds.

Usually shutter blades are made of steel. No detergent to clean that. If it doesn't cause a problem, leave it alone. The only way to clean that is a total disassembly and sandpaper the rust off each individual blade.
