I have a Pentax k1000 and while trying to unload film the film rewind/back-cover release popped off and the screw fell inside. I have no idea how to get inside now to fix this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Use either a bent hook shaped paper clip or a crochet hook to snag the back cover release. It's a straight wire that runs across the hole and once you snag it, pull gently upward and this will release your camera back.
When you go to push the shaft back up into the hole you might find it won't go in, if so simply file a small angle on the flat shoulder of the shaft where the threads start and this flat spot should help guide the shaft past the release mechanism. |

An alternative to filing an angle onto the shaft is to reach back into the hole with your crochet hook (or whatever) and hold the little springs back out of the way as you insert the shaft from below. Most of the time, though, the shaft will go back in without any extra help. |
