Hello. Im new here but it seems the best place to ask.
Ive got my Minolta XG1 with dust on the focusing screen. I decided to clean it. So I remove it, clean it and I put it back. Now all photos are out of focus. Can someone help me to resolve this problem?
Thanks.

You probably changed how the shims between the focusing screen and mounting frame were arranged, causing the distance between the lens and focusing screen to change.

The other possibility is that you leaned on the mirror enough to change the position of the stop it rests on. Many SLRs allow the exact location of that stop to be changed very carefully, which changes the tilt of the mirror to get the film-to-lens distance the same as the screen-to-lens distance.

It's probably in upside down, or it wasn't snapped back into place fully. Check that first.

Mikel, how should it be installed? Which side up?
