Hi Folks,

I have a newly acquired XE-7. In Bulb and X settings, the shutter can be fired and the mirror will return normally. However, at all other shutter speed settings, the mirror stays in the UP position and will not go back down unless I move the dial back to X or Bulb. As soon as I do that, the mirror instantly returns. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The batteries are probably dead. Try replacing the batteries and see if that fixes it. The mirror is supposed to lock up on all speeds except B and X if the batteries are dead. The shutter is electronic, and must depend on batteries for all speeds except B or X (which are mechanically timed).

That worked. I though I had fresh batteries in the camera when I posted. Thanks!
