Hadn't used the meter for a while. Put in fresh battery, and...nothing. Dead external LCD, nothing in the viewfinder display. Light doesn't light anything.

Putting a voltmeter across the 4SR44 battery, pressing the measure button causes the voltage to drop from 6.29 to 6.23. Pressing the light switch, voltage drops to 6.1. All other buttons have no effect.

I've tried removing and replacing the battery a few times, and a gentle tap or two. Is it a write-off?

Nippon Photoclinic here in NYC told me that the F is still repairable, but ny M is too old and can't be repaired.

I was given an old analog Soligor Spot Sensor II, but it reads about 1 stop low in dim light and 3 stops low in bright. (Fresh 9v battery, the LED lights up.) Also a writeoff?
