Hi everyone,
I would be grateful for any advice regarding these two problems :
1)How to remove the take up spool from a Zorki 1. The take up spool seems to be stuck in the camera. Is there some special way to remove the take up spool?

2)Zorki 4 The shutter appears sticky but worse still the shutter speed knob will not lift up to select the shutter speed

I would really appreciate any help with either problem. Thanks in advance.

Cheers Paj.

Hi! I have had no experience with Zorki 1. But I have a couple of Zorki 4Ks that had the same problem with the knob stuck down that would not lift. I used a pair of pliers with cloth around the knob and pulled it up. Then pressed down and pulled up a few times after dropping some lubricating oil in the cavity. They work fine now! It has to be done gently, though. I hope this works for you. I find that the Soviet cameras need more lubrication than those made in other countries. Regards, sp
