I have removed the front of the lens from a Contaflex I (45mm 2.8 Tessar). Is this a single piece of glass, or is it a group of 2 elements?
There are what appear to be fine scratches on the front element, but if it is more than one element, it may be fungus on the back side (I hope).

The front element - the part that rotates to focus the lens - is a single piece of glass.
