Of course when I took off the plate on the front of my Aires III that holds the shutter assembly onto the body, I managed to break off a piece of the leatherette. My bad; had I read Dan Mitchell's page on disassembling the III L, I would have been forewarned that the leatherette on these cameras is very brittle and that heating with a hair dryer would be in order.

I just lost a small piece. Does anyone know of a source of a similar covering material I could use to try to hide my boo-boo? I only need a tiny bit, and would hate to have to buy a whole sheet of the stuff just for this cover-up.

I know Micro-Mark and others sell leatherette, but I don't know if it would match the Aires or not. I'd describe this covering as fairly large-grained, not finely textured. Also fairly thick. Unless someone has a spare Aires for parts laying around ...
