I recently got this camera that has seen some hard knocks, and there are 'shocks' between the front elements. Haven't gotten to the point of field testing it yet, to see what other damage may have occured. After I get the dents pounded out of the filter ring, and clean out the battery well, I'll see if it works or not. If all seems well, then I'll run a test roll through to see if there is any flaring, but for now I'm thinking the front group will have to be replaced. Hope someone out there has a rusted up old bucket they don't need the lens for (40mm 1:1.7). It's a rare bird this side of the pond, and I would like to resurrect it. Thanks, PF |

Just ran a test roll of film through the GL after doing some repairs, and the little 'shocks' aren't causing any problems so far. I'll know more if I point it at a source, like a street light, but keep me in mind. PF |

I would like to delete this post, but due to the archaic nature of this forum I cannot do so. So see the update in Repairs and Maintenance, and use the link to see photos of the repairs. PF |
