Hi folks! Dragged my FX-1 out of storage after 25 years or so. It needs (for starters) a new cap for the battery compartment.

Can anyone help??

So, are you looking to swap out the FX-1, or are you looking for the battery cover for yours? I have one with a bad shutter. I've been reluctant to part with it, hoping another would come my way, but I would be open to suggestions if you have something I'd rather have.

My first option is to locate a battery cover (unrealistic)
My second option is to purchase a FX-1 for parts
My third option is to put it back in storage.

Do you have anything interesting to swap? I have an FX-1 with a lagging shutter, and a displaced spring in the base from when I tried to open it up and didn't get the latch together right. The battery cover is fine, the meter was, at last use, dead-on accurate, etc. I would be willing to part with it, and don't really need money, but I'd love to score something interesting. I'm always looking for interesting stuff for manual Minoltas and Nikons.

I really liked my FX-1, and would hate to see a functioning one go back in storage.

M currie...thanks for the generous offer. I only have my FX-1 camera, so nothing else to offer you (camera-wise). Is there anything else you might consider?? You can contact me at

[email protected]

Thanks madame!

I've been away for a week, and a little busy. I'll rummage in the closet and make sure I can find the Yashica and get back to you soon.

I could mail you the battery cover in an envelope, or the camera, but in the latter case you'd have to pay for the shipping.

Well if I had the battery cover, I could check the other operations of the camera. If it doesn't work, maybe I'll send you my FX body! I have little use (or room) for things that don't work.

Thanks.

I emailed you at the address you gave. If for some reason that doesn't reach you let me know here. Otherwise, respond via email with your address, and I'll send you the crank/cover.
