Bought as a tear-down practice camera, see thread here - https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/2/25727.html?1356149986. Post-war, looks just like this except not as nice, http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/images/Zeiss-Ikon-Super-Ikonta-(A)-531.jpg. The shutter/lens assembly was non-functional when I bought it - shutter stuck open, glass coated in oil, front lens fell off when you tried to turn it. I've done as much as I can to repair it, learning along the way - shutter now works fine at all speeds (can't vouch for absolute accuracy), lens focuses and is correctly registered to the rangefinder, aperture opens and closes fine. The rangefinder, film advance and multiple-exposure mechanisms work fine and I left them alone. Would be a fine shooter except for the scratched glass - some hack put a lot of scratches in many of the surfaces, that I didn't notice at first due to the oil. They might be buffable, otherwise it's a fine parts or teardown practice camera. Shoot me an email at jakoch0000 (four zeros) at yahoo dot com if you're interested in buying it. |
