I found an old German zone focus camera at a thrift shop for $4. It is labelled as a Feinnette, Heinnette or maybe a Seinnette. The text is in a script font and the first letter is hard to make out. It was obviously a budget camera since it is constructed from stamped sheet metal and has a simple shutter with 4 speeds and B. Has anyone heard of this make? The only thing I can find online is a single example for sale on Ebay. |

Would you mind posting a picture of your camera? I'm Austrian and should be able to read the camera name. Or if there is a link to the Ebay item would you post it? |

That one is a Steinette, made by Steiner Bayreuth/ Bavaria. AFAIK the company nowadays is in the bino business. Cameras ending in -ette were awfully en vogue in GER in the mid-fifties, like Akarette, Paxette, all their names indicating smallness, harmlessness, as Germans then had to prove to themselves and the world they were smart, I guess. |

Thanks. Now that the spelling is clear, I was able to find that this was also marketed in Britain as the "Hunter 35". |

Wayne; Your Steinette shows a value of $30-$50 in Mceown's Price guide 1997/1998. It will be interesting to see what the one on eBay will bring as a comparison of then and now. Richard. |
