sorry for the plug, but here it is:

i can provide fresnel focusing screens for a number of medium format TLR and SLR cameras. they are not super-bright screens like a Beattie, but good quality fresnel screens that are a big improvement over a non-fresnel original in an older TLR. if you need something like this, i have more information at http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-175.html

they're $30 each including postage within the USA.

Any chance you would have one to fit an Argoflex TLR. I have the original version that can take 120, although I never can remember the model number.

By the way, is there any chance you have a booth in the flea market in Versailles, KY? If so, that's where I bought the Argoflex from. I always stop and take a very long look at all the other cameras, too, every time I'm in there.

Thanks,
Ben

How much extra is postage to Belgium? Have you ever made a screen for a foth-flex 1 TLR?

Hi Ben: The only Argoflex that I have is the last one with a metal body, and I don't know if the screen is the same as the original model E. I can certainly fit one though if you want to send me your camera.

I didn't even know there was a flea market with cameras at it in Versailles. where do you live? i'm on the south side of lexington...

hi Wim:

I've never done a Foth-Flex. Postage for the screen to Belgium would be very little, but unless I can find a Foth-Flex closer to home, your case would require shipping the whole camera back and forth. Can you remove the screen and give me precise dimensions? maybe i can just cut a screen to your specifications and send it to you.

Rick,
I'm in Frankfort. The booth I'm thinking of is a display case filled with a variety of 30s-50s cameras. When I bought my Argoflex, it was either between it or a Kodak Retina in the same case.

The booth owner seems to know his cameras, and I recall an e-mail adress being posted on the glass door. I thought your name rang a bell from somewhere, so when I saw that you were from Kentucky, I though that maybe that was where I'd seen it.

I will definitely send you the camera, as I love using the camera, but have an awful time focusing the plain ground glass.

Thanks,
Ben
