hello,
can any one tell me how hard it would be to replace the mirror in this camera body.some one previously tried to clean it and it is badly scratched and looks like dirty water spots were also left.any suggestions on where a replacement could be found or modified to work?thank you

It is not going to be easy, because it is a very thin piece of glass which is glued to the frame with 5 dots of glue. Removing the mirror you plan to use without breaking it is very close to impossible. The alternative is to swap the entire mirror assembly. If the camera is important to you, I could sell you a body with a nice mirror. You can contact me at [email protected]. Good luck.

Remember that the mirror is only for viewing. As long as it can focus accurately, dirt and scratches are not a big issue. I would try some gentle cleaning, then some focus checks. Take a fairly close picture of a bookshelf at a 45 degree angle and confirm that the target book is in sharp focus. You may find that you have no functional problem with the mirror.
