While repairing the shutter of a Konica III, I neglected to note the position of the sixth shutter blade. Are there any significant consequences of omitting this blade? The shutter seems to function without it.

My experience has been that it will work fine without that blade, and I normally leave it out.

I agree, in most cases this sixth shutter blade (which can be found in very few shutter models only) causes more trouble than delight. Shutters will be light-tight with 5 blades, as are millions of 5-blade shutters.

Usually the 6th blade is located at the same position as the first blade (i.e. the one you inserted first).
