While repairing the shutter of a Konica III, I neglected to note the position of the sixth shutter blade. Are there any significant consequences of omitting this blade? The shutter seems to function without it. |

My experience has been that it will work fine without that blade, and I normally leave it out.

I agree, in most cases this sixth shutter blade (which can be found in very few shutter models only) causes more trouble than delight. Shutters will be light-tight with 5 blades, as are millions of 5-blade shutters.
Usually the 6th blade is located at the same position as the first blade (i.e. the one you inserted first). |
