Canon A1-has performed well for years. Recently, when loading film at night, on Program, the meter obviously was calling for a long exposure and the mirror went up. (I was just trying to crank off a few frames to load film). So I shut the camera off in mid-exposure to start again with a manual shutter setting. Problem is, the mirror will not come down and the shutter won't fire. I've removed battery (which is fine), and tried numerous other tweaks. Any ideas?
By the way, this happened right off the bat on a European vacation recently- imagine the frustration! Could not even shoot one frame!
Any info would be appreciated. |

this may sound stupid, but be sure that the mirror is actually up, because there is a viewfinder black out button {to prevent any light entering the viewfinder on bulb exposures etc.} |
