I have a OM2 which stays at the same shutter speed no matter what the meter says or light conditions even with the cap on. By my reconong the shutter speed is stuck at 1/60. The shutter speed select works fine and appears correct in manual mode. Is there anything I can do or is a complex fix best handled by a trained technician. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't try this as a do-it-yourself project. |

Agreed. The OM2 mirror locks up if the batteries are flat, but if the speeds in manual are OK,it usually means the camera is OK. You may be being fooled by the fact that if the Auto/ Manual selector is on Auto, and you have the back open, the shutter will fire at 1/ 1000 even in dull light, since the cells are looking back at the ( non-existent ) film and being fooled into giving a brief exposure. Try it with film. |

i also have this problem on auto not on manual.
tried it even with the back close. any suggestion? |
